Cheryl, it is truly a pleasure to have met you. Looking forward to become a full member of the Bail USA team. I really enjoyed the seminar and if I may suggest it should be more often. I think that if all NY bail agents should get together twice a year and discuss our experiences, we would learn from each other and become better bail agents. As we can see there is a lot of gray areas in NY bail Laws, together we can help each other paint a better picture for NY.

New Jersey Compliance

Last weekend we had our compliance training for New Jersey Bail Agents. I am pleased to report that our attendance was outstanding and the feedback from the bail agents present was all positive. The compliance training lasted two days and started off with a course on ethics followed by New Jersey Compliance. The bail agents were amazed at how much they learned even though some of them were involved in the industry for many years.

After Friday’s courses we enjoyed a fun dinner at On the Border Restaurant. The only negative I heard was from bail agents that made the choice to drive back to their home that evening rather than stay at the hotel to interact with everyone.

Saturday was a course on file management. Our instructor for both days was, Gordon Coombes of Canvasback Enterprise. He did a wonderful job. I am honored to have him on as a part of the Bail USA team.

Our next training session will be held in Connecticut and will include the bail agents from Connecticut and New York. This training session will be September 11 and 12 in Danbury.

It is my hope that these courses continue to be a positive experience for the Bail USA Bail Agents. Training in compliance and file management is an essential factor in maintaining the integrity of our industry. I told the bail agents present the preservation of our industry depends on you. We cannot change the bad habits of our industry overnight but we can make a difference one day at a time, one person at a time. I invite you to read my new message from the President where I lay out a bail agent’s statement of values which should be adhered to by all bail agents nationwide.

I will be attending all of our compliance classes nationwide. I look forward to seeing and spending time with you in your state.
